recently purchased an Impulse off of eBay for parts/ non-working. The gun has impulse layered on the right hand side of it, but I am unsure of the year. I put a new battery in and tried to turn it on, but all I get is a yellow light that flashes for a second then turns off. I am unfamiliar with this year, the last impulse I had, had a cricket board installed in it. I don't know if the light coming on and off means the board isn't working or that there is a problem somewhere else. IF anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated. I figured I would get some help before I started searching for a new board.

That is an oldie.  So what happenes once the light turns off?  Is that a "turbo" board?  Switch on on the back to turn on/off "turbo" mode?  See the I-O Library for the manual from back then.

I looked at the manual it appears to be the turbo. I have a switch on the back that goes left and right. I turn the gun on, on the side. The yellow light comes on then goes away. I pull the trigger, the solenoid doesn't click or anything. Im pretty sure the main board may be shot. If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. I don't want this piece of history to just sit and collect dust.

i've never owned a turbo board so unfortunately I can't really be of any assistance. One thing to make sure of is that the trigger is making contact with the microswitch. Or better yet, just take the board out of the gun and manually push the microswicth with your finger and see what happens.

Change out the battery too.  Do pop out the board and check the trigger contact.  Good call Lights.
