What is up with that straw like mesh tube in the airtube that you put the tape worm into?  I dented one when installing an LPR.  Seems kind of loose to be any real filter.

its an old school filter for N2 back when it was used it may seem useless but it did do what it was intended for... but pretty much useless with compressed air as its not a "dirty" gas

Yup, I tossed it. Not needed especially if you run compressed air.
