hey guys im new to the impulse world. been paintballin with spyders and tippmanns for a long time now i have 2 imps i got from a trade.

One is an Atomix A Bomb and the other is a regular imp with the horizontal max flo setup and aftermarket internals.

I still have to actually take them apart to learn, get use to the parts, and clean them cause previous owner never did.

THE QUESTION: what I was wondering is can I run a 48cu/3Kpsi  tank on them or do i need regulators?  The regular imp like i said has the horizontal max flo setup, how can i change this setup to run something else, something easier if possible. cause i have to get the tank hydrotested and was wondering what psi do they run at?

is co2 ok to use on them or stay with HPA?

how do you tell what brand the parts are, cause some of the parts dont look like stock but there's no markings or way to id them

Also if i cant find the dow 33 lube, where can i find some decent lube not from a paintball store and whats a subsitute, because there's no paintball stores within 15 miles of my city.

I've searched around the forums and found some answers bout i thought i might as well get to the people that know them the most and get the correct answers instead of finding an answer that might be right.

A lot of questions.  Welcome to the Imp family first of all.

Yes you need a regulator.  Something to knock that 3k or 4.5k pressure down to around 180 where the Imp wants to play.  The Imp is a low pressure marker and can use either a high or low pressure tank.  If you pop on a LPR after the main, then it will run down near 80.  There are after market regs by a bunch of companies that will work fine.

You want to use HPA because CO2 will freeze you up with quick firing and is a pain in the butt to get filled etc..  Your tank should run around $30 for the hydro test.

If you tear down the marker and take pictures, people on here can probably give you an idea what your internals are if they are stock or other.

Dow 33 is the lube recommended stock with the Imps.  I got a tube of SL33k with a marker that I bought on eBay.  That is was a silicon based lube from Smart Parts.  There are others of course, just don't use car stuff.  Probably mess up the o-rings bad.

As you already saw, there is someone hot after your Atomix A-Bomb.

Again - welcome and feel free to post away what you find or need to know.

red is on the money dont try to substitute anything for dow 33 i made that mistake with my first imp and paid for it dearly..... i used AKA gun oil and ended up having to replace every seal along with the noid all because i was trying to cut corners. sleek lube is cheap on ebay along wit dye lube so just go get some. i have to say im a bit jealous that your first imp is an Abomb as most of us have spent a few years looking for them welcome to the family any other questions we would all be happy to answer
