Just want to say hello to everyone on here and I cant wait to learn all there is to know about my Imp! The Imp was the first real paintball gun I ever owned and its what got me hooked on paintball. Well like most kids I sold my gun when I went off to college and took a break from the sport. Well a few years ago I got back into it and its funny how much has changed.

Last week at the field some one was frustrated with their Imp saying it wouldn't turn on. He was honestly ready to trash it and said highest offer gets it. 20$ later im the proud owner of what I thought was just and Imp, but now know its a 32* one! I took it home and broke it down to clean and re lube everything. I found out that the blue button on the power was missing so I took one off what im assuming are setting adjustment buttons and got the board to turn on. Now that everything is back together when I pull the trigger I can hear the board click but nothing from the noid. I pressed the power button aging so the blue light was flashing fast and still nothing from the noid. Any thoughts on were I should start? Are these noids like the shocker ones were you can break them down and service them? Is that worth a shot?

No leaks when I air her up so that's always nice. The black plate between the noid and body looks like its been broken on both ends, is this normal? Im guessing the board I have is a stock vision board? Im posting pictures of it broken down, do I have any parts that are not stock and if so what brand are they? Thanks for any help!

It works!

VS for vision shocker?

lot 4?

Doesn't look right

dont know how to get it out and dont want to try till I know

First off, you need a new noid gasket.  As you suspected, it is not supposed to be missing the ends.  That looks like an Adrenaline front cap with that logo and the "button" that you have where the tapeworm goes looks like an Adrenaline part also.  Delrin stock style bolt with a titanium pin.  Regular cricket vision board, but it may be upgradable to pretty much match a Blackheart.  See your picture #5 showing the main chip with no sticker and the number 4433 on it.  That service is offered through this site.  Read under the Services tab.  I have one that I installed the EHC software on and it rocks.  It is hit or miss.  Some upgrade and some not.
You remove the valve (picture 17) by removing a plug bolt from the bottom of the body.  Then out the back.  It looks like an NDZ rip valve.
Like I said on pbN, an amazing buy.

Thank you for all the info! Sorry for the double post on both sites, I just see my self doing more with this Imp and maybe others in the future so this seems like the best place to learn!  Look at the picture of the board agin, notice how im missing 2 of the buttons. What do they do? Is this board worth trying to fix and get working or should I just spend a little $$ and buy a blackheart? Honestly from what im being told if it has just about everything it could have then why put a stock board in it? lol Please tell me the black heart has a psp mode!?

Best to post here and on pbN 'cuz some of those guys over there don't come here and visa-versa.  Besides, we that do, don't mind reading it twice!!!
Most of your questions are answered in the Library.  The two side buttons control the dwell up and down.  You can leave those buttonless (capless), but be careful around water since you have holes to the electronics then.  http://www.impulse-owners.com/manuals/vision_manual.pdf
Manuals on the ECS and Blackheart are there too.
I'd recommend that you get it working as is with that board.  If you want to try the ECS upgrade, you may get lucky.  If not, you are only out $15.  A Blackheart will run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $65 or so usually.

Wow - what a steal for $20!! How come I never come across these killer deals? Agree with everything Black said. If you can upgrade your board to the ECS software, you can save youself some money and pretty much have the same board as the Blackheart. In case you haven't seen it yet, here is the link for ECS...

thanks to blacknred I now have an ECS upgraded board and working noid/ gasket! I put her all back together aired her up, and lets just say words cant describe the grin on my face when she was shot. Ive swapped some parts out to make it a little more my own. I put an sft reg, empire on/off, and black back/ blue tip freak (even sought out an older tear drop tip) all I need now is to replace the crappy Ion feed neck with a clamping or locking feed neck! Ill get some pictures this weekend of it in action. You better believe ill be out of the airball field with my imp!!
