Hey guys,

First post. But its about time for a little bit of help. I started playing in about 2000 when i was 14 years old. I had a Jt5.0 and some other ghetto esque gear. The marker around that time that everyone wanted seemed to be the shockers and Impys. Always dreamed, never afforded. I took a 7 year segway away from the sport to do the usual things like College and becoming a full time snowbum up in Breckenridge, Co. Well life has landed me back down in the foothills and my paintball addiction started to thrive once again. I bought some markers and started teching/playing again. I recently acquired an original Impulse off of Craigslist for $50. See pictures for everything included in the sale. Now I know this gun is outdated, I know that it is in fact not the great gun I once thought it to be. I know its a waste of money. But I just don't care. It's old school cool and I want it!

Now here are all my questions.
Main thing. PARTS!

This marker came without a bolt or bolt pin so those are a needed item. I know DW or noone else makes a bolt for this thing anymore. I found a few delrin bolts out there that are backstocked for about $25. But im reaching out. Does anyone have Bolts? Bolt pins? Know where to find them? Sell me your junk!

My 2nd question. Vision eyes/board. Can these still be found? This particular Impy has the Cricket board. But no vision. anyone have an old vision set up lying around?

3rd Regulators!! This thing still has the GTG and the freakin Max-flo on it! now i love it but I want the vertical reg too. Does anyone have a Vert-reg adapter? or a stock vertical regulator? Lemme Know!

4Th Triggers! I NEED a trigger for this thing. Ideas? Anyone have one?

5th Tapeworm <-- Self explanatory I need a tapeworm

6th question- LPR's? What LPR's work well with this marker? can they still be bought? does anyone have one?

7th question. WHAT REGULATOR IS THIS?!?!? In the pictures below you will notice a Low pressure vertical regulator. This was included in a bag of Spare parts with the gun. it's BNIB whatever it is. Is this for an angel? or what? I have never personally ran across this product before. Help me out. Should I keep it? sell it? Is it worth anything?

8th WHAT ASA IS THIS?!?!? lol same deal Adjustable ASA No-Idea if this is aftermarket or stock. (Not the Max-Flo) But the small knob adjusted side mount ASA

9th What Bolt is this? the little black bolt with the red trishaped thing in it? I know it's not for an Impy What is it for?

So that's Pretty much it. I'm just looking for any information, advice, parts! parts, parts. Bolts, Bolt pins, Regulators, Adapters, Asa's, Tapeworms, Mods, LPR's Please! lol sell me your old stuff! Anything that might help me get this cool old gun shooting again would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Here is a few random Pics!

Woot.  Another convert.  Now don't go sayin' that they aren't the great gun they used to be and are a waste of money.  I know you didn't mean that.  U're just a bit frustrated.  Now sit back and enjoy.
Looks like you got a 2002 or newer marker judging from the board tray.  That is the "newer" style with the on/off switch and blue flashing cricket.  Not as "bad" as it could be.  I see in the picture that it looks like you may have an un-locked cricket.  If so, we here at I-O have a service that can upgrade that to newer software allowing for a greater bit of control over the board including dwell, debounce, ramping up to full auto.  Without vision that can cause concern, but just saying.

There are many part sellers on here including myself and most of the stuff is available cheap. I say most.  Some things are expensive like new NDZ parts.  Stock parts are pretty cheap.

Vision boards of that age sell for around $50 usually.

That AKA reg that you have would replace the Maxflow and gas through grip.  I am not familar with them, but have heard that they are really nice.  You can turn the max flo into an air tool regulator like posted elsewhere.

Eclipse triggers are cheap on e-Bay or here.  $5 or so.  CP's are nice but more if you can find.

Tapeworm - I have one you can buy - new in the package and black.

There are LPR's in the parts section.  I have a Jackhammer II and nipple used, but not in black.

Don't know what that ASA is, but not stock for sure.

Make yourself a cover for that open eye hole man.  People are pointing!  Cool

I would trade you this for the AKA and mystery bolt.

I would of course take out my board and noid. It does have the Eclipse trigger, EVIL bolt and Tapeworm.

So yeah, I guess the AKA is nice.  Forgot to mention that I have not seen that bolt before.

Man you guys are awesome! thanks for everything! I got a PM from bfyffe07 and he has these parts.

Derlin Bolt -
Bolt Pin -
Vision Board -
Vertical Adapter -
Trigger -
Barbed Tapeworm -
LPR -

I think I'm going to have to go with that!

BlacknRed- Thanks for everything man! depending on how things work out I may be looking to you to buy a Nipple for the LPR. I was debating just attaching it to the Vertical reg adapter. but cosmetically/to get it out of the way Under the barrel may be better. what do you think? also does your BNIB tapeworm have the nipple to attach to the LPR? I have heard some say I dont even need a tapeworm with an LPR and heard others say I need a barbed one for the cocker tube?

I apologize DeathSS but I think I am going to end up using the AKA reg after all. It seems from what everyone is barking to be one of the nicest ever made..

SO my questions now are. Anything else I will need guys? Or do you think if I rebuild with all of this I will end up with a good shooter? What parts would you buy that aren't necessarily needed, but would make the gun nicer?

bfyffe07 is a good seller.  Glad that you two can get together.  The LPR's that I am familiar with do feed into the tube where the tapeworm goes generally.  The barbed guys are like a tapeworm with it's head tweaked.  I prefer the LPR under the barrel.  Here is a link to the nipple that I have.  http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/1938/
The one I have is chrome and is sealed in the packaging new.

I just figured that you were like every other Tom, **** and Harry and would rather trade. Only offering what you were asking for. No hard feelings.

BlacknRed- ok awesome. Im still wondering about the cap to mount the LPR under the barrel? can i drill/tap mine with my drill press? what are the thread size/pitch of most cocker LPRs? or should I just buy one? got one?

EDIT: so the 'Barbed' One that bfy has will not work with an Lpr?

DEATHSS - Who says I'm not! lol just so happened i ended up wanting to keep this part after some research. I definitely had a minute of "Oh yea I'll do that" when I first saw your post yesterday.

An AKA reg is a little too much cash for the normal player. The price for them is just way to high. I have a AKA and a Dye Hyper 2 and they both are equally consistent. They are nice, but not worth having $75 invested in a reg for weekend play. They used to be $120 each though. You got it free, so I don't blame you for wanting to keep it.

You can drill and thread the right cap.  It must have enough metal in it to take some abuse.  I have one black and one silver untapped toxic cap that would fit that bill if you have the tap set.  It is the same threading that all the other holes of that diameter on the Imp.  Not sure what that pitch is, but it is in the Library.  I do have a drilled gloss black, but it is dinged up some.
Not sure what barb bfy has, but think that it is similar to what I have.

ok so I'm pretty much all set up! so excited! I cant wait. Only question now is with an LPR installed do any of these holes on the bottom of the body need to be capped (the really small ones the same that in tapeworm instructions it says to put a set screw in.) Mine are all open (see photo) and Im not sure if I need to find screws for them or not? and I can just toss this screen right? I don't need it running HPA it was just there more for Nitrogen yes?

The screen was for CO2 since that is a "dirty" fill gas.  HPA and Nitrogen are virtually the same.  HPA is just compressed air and that is about 80% nitrogen.  I don't know if in the early days they trucked in pure nitrogen or that was just a misnomer.
Not sure about all the holes, but I have a couple of them open on my bodies that are apart at the moment.

Well guys! SHE SHOOTS! I got my parts from Bfy yesterday, Awesome seller! thanks a ton man! Here is a quick Picture (Note the ASA adapter hasn't arrived yet. so the hor. Max-flow and GTG are still there.) as soon as that piece arrives they will be replaced by a Drop forward and that AKA regulator. This hasn't been chronoed yet, and I need a few more 018 O-rings. I have a small leak through the breech. everything has yet to be loctited either.

so Picture BEFORE

AFTER

As long as you can screw the bottle on, you've just made it more compact!
