My max-flo's adjustment cap's screw hole is stripped.  the hex screw, if i just tap the reg onto my hand, falls right out.  i didn't over tighten, i just noticed a tiny bit of thread bite (much less than i normally use to secure the cap) and then it spun freely.  when i took out the screw, i actually pulled off a small coil of metal  Embarrassed and i'm not going to run around with a semi loose adjustment cap.  yeah... NO!   what should i do?

i actually like the tough look of the max-flo, it works great, and it's anno matches the rest of the gun.  can't really re-tap it larger as there isn't much metal down there to work with.

don't want to get another reg really.  but if i must i must.  suggestions?  anyone selling a blue vertical max-flo adjustment cap?

I have a couple that are missing the screw but they are not so loose that they creep.  That being said, you could tap to the next size up and go from there.  Not difficult since we are talking aluminum.  Another option is to take the cap to your local small hardware store that actually has parts and see if a screw with a different threading will grip.  The original is fine.  A more corse thread will cross thread on the fine and maybe find some bite.

ok cool, you give me hope.  i think i'll head up to ace hardware right now.

i just spent time looking at cp regs and such.  lol, don't feel like spending another $60 after all the ups i've just done.  i just got it all together and chrono'd it today.  now i have to take the reg apart and fix the dang thing.  lol.  such is the life of a tinkerer.
