hi guys, 1st post here. i just got a used impy with vision that was working, my brother rebuilt it for me. i screwed on the air tank after replacing the ASA and the pressure reg was set really high. i dont remember exactly how high, but after that the gun doesnt work. it wont power on, no light, no beep. the battery does have power. we opened the gun and did a fast cleaning and lube of the solenoid but it still doesn't work. does the solenoid needs to be replaced? could it be something else. noobie here needs some help! thanks

First and easiest thing to do is try another new battery.  Not something out of a smoke detector that has been working for two years.  Any luck?  Take the trigger frame off  and remove the eye from the marker.  Does it turn on?  If not, disconnect the solenoid.  Does it turn on.  If not, remove the daughter eye board.  Any luck?  At some point either it will or it won't turn on.  Then add parts back on and when it stops working, there you have the issue.  Could be a bad battery, bad battery lead, bad connection on the board, short somewhere on the daughter board or 'noid.  Let us know what you find, and welcome to the I-O family.  You'll find plenty of knowedge and friendship here.

Are you sure that the trigger is pressing the switch?  Does the light change when you pull the trigger or pull and hold?  I can't remember what it does, but if the switch is being activated by the trigger I believe that the light stops blinking or something along those lines.  Away from my Imps for the rest of the day so I can't check.
Do you have a HPV on the marker?  The High Pressure Valve will open up and relieve high pressure so the Solenoid doesn't get blasted.  Usually on the Vertical Adapter above the reg or if you have a horizontal Max-Flo it is probably part of that assembley.  Round and either brass or chromed.  You said that the pressure was turned way up when you first aired.  Did it leak from somewhere?  Usually the HPV if it is there and working.

Just take the frame off, pull the trigger and listen for the noid to click. Just because the noid does not click, does not mean it is bad. The daughter board could be roached. The marker will also not fire if the air input pressure is too low.

thanks for all the help! you guys are great!  Thumbs Up

the trigger is connecting with the switch, the light does change when i pull the trigger. with the vision off, the light blinks when i pull the trigger. with the vision on, and my finger blocking the beam, the light also blinks when i pull the trigger.

i do have a HPV and that is what was set really high when i aired the gun up. i think it hit around 400 psi. ive turned it down to a little over 100 right now. as far as i can tell the gun is not leaking air, i dont hear any leaks.

deathss: i will try listening for the solenoid to click. if i remember correctly, it didnt. how can i test the daughter board?

thanks again guys!!

The HPV is not a setable item.  The Regulator is where you change the pressures.  The HPV is set by design with spring weight.  Not sure what the value is, but it may be written on there.  Probably 250 psi or some such.
If the daughter board or eyes are bad, I believe that if you unplug them, the marker should fire in blind mode.
