i hear ya. It's hard to find time to get out an run around sometimes! Winter is a great time to tinker with your guns and get them all ready to go for the nice weather!

you got yourself 2 very solid upgrades though and you're headed in the right direction!

Thanks. I want to set the dwell good and see how she runs. I may get a low pressure regulator also. But like how it looks now, stock and old!

:-( so I tryed setting the dwell today but I couldn't get the gun under 310fps. If I turned the max flo down it wouldn't cycle fast enough. I had the max flo set at 180 and turned the dwell all the way both directions. It never got under 310. Any suggestions?

Yes, tuning an old impulse can take time, first it depends what kind of board it is... And 180 is a little high, anywhere from 115-165 is money (depending on how you like to set it)
Second, you want to allow your impulse enough time to change it's setting, shooting it 3 times every time you adjust it, until you find something with a good fire rate... I have heard of some guns needing up to 5 minutes to adjust to the dwell... just depends if your impulse is a metaphorical female or male haha

Im willing to bet if you cleaned and inspected the reg, that it's fine, I would just give the impulse some time to adjust to the settings.... Stupid question, but have you tried a new name brand battery?

So I'm tryin to set the dwell again. What direction is down? I turned it all the way counter clock wise and have the pressure at 170. My fps is stayin around 300 and I hear it loading air while it cycles. Not loosing air cause of a bad o-ring but because the timing is off.

Alright I figured the dwell but it's still not runnin right. I wonder if my dwell dial is busted. I'm waiting a while in beteen adjustments and I'm on my second tank. Still no luck.

Did you make sure to allow enough time for the gun to reset to the new dwell??? Try bringing the pressure down to 160, maybe even 140 (where mine runs at)... Even though 170 is optimal, its still a lil high... And this is most likely the reason you can bring it down under 300 fps...

Yea I pretty much spent 4 hrs messing with it. Had to get the tank refilled. Pretty much waited 5 min between adjustments. I'm givin up. I got ahold of a shop that has experience with impulses. They said it could be due to the new bolt. Sometimes they don't jive well. But I'm gonna just let them get it runnin right.
