So I bought a plane Jane impulse brand new back in 03. I never really played a bunch but atleast every other weekend back then. I only play 2-3 times a summer now. I had a few problems a with her 2 yrs ago and just put it to the side. Today I finally got her up and runnin and Lookin at Picts of people imps here it makes mine look ancient. Mine is completely stock except for a low rise clamp feed neck. Also feed it with a halo to make up for the lack of a eye. Ive always wanted to throw some upgrades to it but I only plan on playin woods ball once in a while. I've been wantin to get a freak barrel to improve accuracy. I'm not a real fast shooter, I just want it to maybe chop less paint and be super accurate with good range. Any suggestions?

Get and LPR and a delrin bolt, that will take less loads on the paint being slapped around hard by a heavy bold and high pressure. I have a freak kit and I have never had a problem with it, you can find them cheap on ebay, I would say for woodsball get a 14-16 in barrel. Other than that, you don't need that many upgrade to get it up and going. You have a good set up so far, the barrel and lighter bolt will help a lot, also with sizing paint you want to go one above snug because its an open bolt set up. Hopefully this helps. I have a couple of parts in my gear bag if you decide to upgrade on some stuff just send me a PM

Thanks. That's one reason why I never really upgraded any parts. I was completely happy with how it is stock. I was thinkin a new bolt. My imp has the original style max flow reg on the drop down. What LPR do you suggest that isn't to expensive?

Thanks! I'm not tryin to sound like a total newb but I don't want to go throwin $ at my imp on a bunch of AM parts. I was close to ditching the old imp and gettin a used automag. But luckily I found a used solenoid on ebay.

If its the solenoid that just sold yesterday then you got it from me lol. I love automags! Too bad I never owned one, I just picked up a DM3 which is a gun I wanted for a while. I would say you would be fine with just a delrin bolt.

I would suggest an NDZ equalizer bolt and an NDZ RIP valve. The bolt will help with accuracy and the RIP valve will help alot with effeiciency, allowing you to get more shots per fill.

Cool thanks. I could definitely use that. My tank only lasts a little over one game.

What size tank? Have you takin the time to set the dwell up right? Dwell(and a rip valve) are the KEYs to an impulse.

I got a smaller size tank. It's a 3000psi 48cu. I wish I got Somethin bigger but I'm a cheap ***. But I have recently purchased a EQ bolt and a rip valve. I plan on goin to a field near me this month and will fine tune the Dwell. Any recommendation on doin it? I never really messed with it.

Set the input pressure to 180ish, drop the dwell to rock bottom.. Start upping the dwell, take a few shots between changes. Get to around 280fps. Or if the fps starts to level off and the dwell does nothing to the fps your in the area. Takes a little practice, air, and paint but once you get it down its gravy..
There is a alot of info on this site, spend some time here too. All the ballers here are willing to help. GL

Well I got the NDZ bolt and RIP valve. Shot it in the backyard and it was pretty good. I never got a chance to play over the summer though :-( I need to adjust the Dwell and hopefully use it next spring.
