Well, I recently picked up a complete ram assembly for $3 bucks off ebay. Ive been looking to fill out a stock body I have lying around and I couldnt pass it up. Anyways, enough of that.

It was advertised as a stock housing with NDZ silk shot and brass hammer. I was surprised to find that the brass hammer has holes drilled into it, similar to rat hole hammers. I dont know if this was an EPBO hammer or not, but whoever did it did a top notch job on it.

Next is the ram assembly itself. It appears to have twice the air passage holes as my other assembly and only extends out the back half the distance as my stock.

Here is a crappy cell phone pick. The ram in question is on the right. Sorry, its all i got.

Anyways, did SP make two different assemblies at some point in time or is this something special? All i know, is that this one cycles a whole lot smoother than the one Im currently using and FSDO is nonexistent now.

Hmm...first off...good find for $3!! haha

EPBO "recalled" their brass hammers because pieces of the brass were flaking off and working their way into the gun. So they replaced them with SS. I wouldn't not use the brass hammer, just keep an on it.

As far as the 2 assemblies...I have a bunch of random assemblies in my workshop, and I am pretty sure they are all the same size. i will double check and get back to you. But you might have found a modded housing. It's hard to tell from the pic...but could that be an NDZ. Do you know what an NDZ housing looks like?

It does'nt appear to be a NDZ housing, because there are no air transfer passages milled into the body.

I should have my hands on a better camera this afternoon so ill get better pics then.
