In the near future I'll hopefully be picking up a couple impulses in a trade and I've been thinking what kind of frame I want on them. One idea I had was to use a DM3 frame and board and then relocate the battery to the board tray. I just don't know if it will fit because I don't have one in front of me to mess around with.

What do you guys think? Would this work?

It will fit. You are able to push the battery in the tray with a little force. It is tight though.

Wow, that does look tight. I'm also thinking a DM4/5 frame or ego frame could work (check out dmpulse on youtube) but I'd probably have to buy a whole gun to get one.
